Hi my name is Jason Airst and I plan on running the greatest peulah at camp this summer. I will be heading up the new specialty called “Tevah” which translates to Nature. This program aims to teach the campers about the environment around them and about their effect on the world around them in a fun and exciting way. One example will be catching fish and frogs with the younger kids. Another one will be teaching the campers how their choices affect the environment. Also they will be learning how to identify various plants and animals around the camp. I myself have been rocking out at Kadimah for over 10 years. I first arrived at in ’95; this will be my 12th summer at camp and my 5th summer as staff. In those years I have had the pleasure of working with the two greatest sections at camp, Gibborim and Goshrim.
I am originally from Fredericton N.B., but I have been living in Halifax for the last 4 year doing a biology degree at Dalhousie University. I enjoy hiking, camping, and working outside. I love animals and the environment. I have done field work in forests, rivers, lakes and the ocean all around the province of Nova Scotia. At the end of camp this year I will be traveling to the Amazon Rain Forest of Peru to do an internship with a conservation group for three months. |
