I'm Elliott, the Program Director for 2006. I'm originally from Toronto, but in the last ten months have lived in Montreal, Toronto, Tel Aviv, Rivere-du-Loup, and, of course, Barss Corner. This is my sixteenth summer at Kadimah, my second home. In "real life," I graduated with a BA Hon from McGill in 2005 and am headed to the U.K. to do my graduate work in International Politics. I'd tell you the whole story, but as they say, "it's not so much interesting as it is long."
I'm really excited for my first summer as PD, mostly because I'm certain this is the best staff list the camp has yet to compile. I'm excited to work with a strong core of returning senior specialists and a really responsible group of young staff (some of whom may or may not have been campers in the best cabin ever).
It's also great to be back with my "assistant," the LEGENDary Aaron (Superman) Cohen (seen left, making Travolta-like eyes like at you). Together we're aiming to inject some old-school Kadimah tricks into the usual milieu of programmic-mayham. Exactly what that means, I won't say. You see, we firmly believe that nothing is fun unless its a surprise. I can only tell answer a few questions (below) about the summer at this time, selected at random from emails I have received in the past weeks. If you have any further comments/suggestions/concerns, please feel free to call on me at elliottcappell@hotmail.com:
Will there be explosion, stunts, and huge bonfires involved? Possibly.
Is there likely to be a new staff with a Strawczynski-like unpronounceable name hired at the last second? Certainly.
Is Noah Zatzman really "muchos excited" for the summer, or just plain excited? Not sure.
Could we be putting tethered yellow balls back on poles around camp for your enjoyment? Oh baby.
When will Maccabia be broken? July 8th, at the social. Want to know how? Better be there...
