Campers travel from across the country and the world to spend their summers at Camp Kadimah which is located in Barss Corner, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. The small maritime village of Lunenburg is a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site but the hidden gem of the same region is Camp Kadimah. The solid bonds formed at camp are reinforced by the down-to-earth culture surrounding camp, the breathtaking scenery and valuable life lessons shared by counselors and campers alike.
Our camper community is made up of people from many cities across North America and Israel. Click here to find out about the entire travel experience.
Campers live in cabins that are equipped with running water, washrooms and electricity. There are several large multi-purpose programming buildings including a cultural centre (RCC) equipped with a large stage for dramatic productions and an indoor gymnasium (ulam) for basketball and floor hockey, among other sports.
A beautiful amphitheatre is used during programs and services. The dining hall (chadar) accommodates all campers and staff at one time, and is a common place for daily announcements and singing after meals. There is a full kosher kitchen at camp serving delicious and healthy food three times a day, as well as snacks (tuck) in the afternoon and at night.
There are four separate water front areas: the largest area boasts a shallow end as well as a perimeter of extensive floating docks designated for swimming and includes a brand new diving board; another area on the lake is designated for ski and tubing; a third dock area is used for canoeing, and a fourth is for sailing and buddy-boarding.
There is a main baseball field located at the centre of camp. The Chairmans Sports Field, is the size of a regulation football field and has a running track around it. There are outdoor tennis courts, a volleyball court, a mini putt course and a low ropes course.
