HELLO FROM THE DIRECTOR'S CHAIR,
Welcome to the premiere edition of the CK Bunk Report – your connection to exciting camp news, contests and insightful stories that are uniquely Kadimah.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Joanna Wexler and 2010 will mark my 5th year as Camp Director.  During my tenure, I have seen some amazing things happen at camp - excellent programming, community service, and moving Havdallah and Shabbat services.  As a mother of two little ones who accompany me to Camp every summer, I am deeply moved by what a caring and united family Kadimah is - how the campers include Boaz and Dov, and what a treat bringing them to the Gibbies on a rainy day can be.

I joined the Kadimah crew in 1996 as the Shira (song) director, and then Kochot Section Head, Administrator, Assistant Director and Director.  I met my husband Ezra on the Camp grounds, and we married at the amphitheatre in 2002 in front of family and camp friends.  As we continue to build our life together here in Halifax, we treasure the Maritime values that keep us anchored in this small, tight knit community - values that define the Kadimah camp experience such as outings by the ocean; exploring Nova Scotia’s scenic beauty; and, getting entrenched in the province’s rich culture and heritage.

This year, I am pleased to announce that Jillian Zuckerman will be returning as Assistant Director, and that Jared Goldlust will be back as our Associate Director and will be starting as a full time director in Toronto in September for the 2011 camp season.  I have watched Jared move through Kadimah as a Camper, Staff member, Section Head, Program Director and Assistant Director, and look forward to working with him again this summer.
