Jillian Zuckerman joined the Camp Kadimah family in 1992 as a Kochot camper and has since held positions as Bunk Staff, Section Head, CIT Director, Head of Camper Care, and Associate Director.  Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, and currently residing in Toronto, Jillian’s strong ties to the east coast bring her back to the camp near the ocean year after year to reaffirm her love for everything Maritime.

With a natural affinity for teaching, Jillian has a diploma in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and a Masters Degree in Teaching from Griffith University in Queensland, Australia.  Presently, she is a middle school teacher at the United Synagogue Day School in Toronto where her grade 6 and 7 students describe Jillian as “full of energy and always there to listen. She makes learning fun.”

Jared Goldlust has a long standing history with Camp Kadimah.  He started at camp as a Macharnik and CIT from 1998-2000, and worked his way up through the ranks as a Counselor, S’Gan Rosh Machar, Rosh Machar, Program Director, and Assistant Director.  After completing a dual degree in Recreation and Management at Nova Scotia’s own Dalhousie University, he temporarily took the Directors chair, filling in at the Kadimah office for Joanna Wexler during her 2006-2007 maternity leave.

In 2008, Jared was selected by the Foundation for Jewish Camp for the Bildner Graduate Fellowship to attend Brandeis University in Boston.  Designed to train the next generation of Jewish summer camp leaders, the Fellowship allows one graduate student a year to pursue a joint MBA degree in Jewish professional leadership at Brandeis’ Heller School for Social Policy and Management and at Hornstein: The Jewish Professional Leadership Program @ Brandeis.

Following graduation, Jared will be back on beloved camp ground this summer as an Associate Director, after which he will begin working as the full-time Director out of Kadimah’s new Toronto-based office..  “Like many alumni, current campers, and staff, Kadimah holds a special place in my heart,” said Jared.  “I look forward to working with families, new and old, in continuing to share, grow and develop this extraordinary summer home in beautiful Nova Scotia.”
