Kadimah Mitzvot
Community Support

• Partnership 2000- our living bridge program bringing Israeli and Canadian Youth together for a shared summer experience.

• Our CITs in 2006 did community service with Camp Hillis, a camp for adults with special needs

• in 2007 our CITs spent time in the Fredericton Jewish Community, participating in a service and performing an oneg shabbat for the community.

• We brought 2 teenagers from S'derot in both 2007 and 2008 for a Kadimah summer experience

• In 2007 we raised awareness and funds in the Machar program for Camp Koby, a camp for children affected by terrorism in Israel.

• Camp Kadimah runs youth programming in Atlantic Canada in Halifax and smaller communities. Camp staff studying in Halifax volunteer their time to continue our camp style programming with kids throughout the year.

• Campers and CITs have opportunities to lead services for the camp.

• Every summer our art staff do a legacy project that all campers participate in to beautify camp.  This project is in keeping with our theme and is installed in various buidlings around camp.

• In 2007 we participated in an International Holocaust project.  Millions of butterfliesmade in camps and schools were sent to a school collection in the US.  Kadimah kept behind several of the butterflies installed in the Boniuk building to remind us of this important project.

• Camp Kadimah gives over $70,000 in Camper scholarships on a needs basis to families who could not otherwise afford to give their children a camp experience.

• In 2007 our staff donated 1% of their salaries to Cuban Jewry
